Rocket Launcher (RL): Slower weapons with low fire rate, but whose explosive projectiles are ideal for inflicting massive splash damage across wide areas. They are perfect for dealing with multiple weaker enemies that are arranged in tight formations. Otherwise, they’re quite weak in terms of single-target damage output, at least compared to other weapon types.
Sniper Rifle (SR): Powerful weapons whose sole purpose is to engage distant enemies, or to target the weaknesses of tougher opponents. As their name implies, these are ideal weapons for precision shooting, and boast high damage per shot.
Other than their weapon types, Nikke are also divided into the roles that they can fulfill within any given formation. These roles are divided into the following:
Attacker: Nikke with high offensive capabilities and that specialize in destroying enemies on the battlefield.
Defender: Units with high defensive stats that primarily focus on keeping their allies shielded and safe from harm.
Supporter: Special Nikke that can offer protective and supporting buffs and positive effects to their allies, while possibly inflicting negative status effects on the enemy to limit their potential on the field.

Even though two Nikke might wield the same weapon type, their role within any given team can vary greatly. As such, it’s very important to keep in mind their vital stats before choosing to add them to your team, since even if a character wields a powerful weapon type like an SMG, they might not do much damage if, for example, they’re Supporters.

Game Modes and Stages

When starting the game, you are recommended to start with the campaign mode. The reason is that if a player manages to clear 5 of these campaign stages, players can gain a considerable upgrade in the game. And a level up means that players have more combat records, credits, EXPs, equipment, and rewards.  
If you want to earn some combat power, credits, and the cubes, you must proceed with the sector and tribe tower game modes.
Burst Skills and Team Composition
The Burst Skills in Nikke are the strongest abilities that your characters can unleash in combat. Each Nikke has their own weapon type and role, they also have different Burst Skill levels. As such, while optimizing your team with a balanced distribution of roles is important, you also need to ensure that you have at least one Nikke of each burst level. And while the individual effects of each of these skills can make or break your squad, the combined might of a Burst Skill chain is more than worth the effort to achieve.
Choosing the Right Squad
A good recommendation for this aspect is to keep three Attackers, one Tank, and one Supporter. This distribution will ensure that you always have a Nikke on the frontline tanking most of the hits, another Nikke working to keep everyone alive, and three Nikke just tearing up the battlefield with their superior firepower.

The second aspect is the balance of weapon types, though this aspect is a bit more flexible since many weapons types can excel at different situations. For instance, while Rocket Launchers are great against enemies that are standing closely together, they can also deal decent damage to individual units if necessary—they’re just weaker compared to other, more specialized weapons when it comes to single-target DPS. 
As a general rule of thumb, we recommend keeping around at least a couple of ARs as these are general-use weapons that are good for most occasions. However, it’s also important to try and bring a Sniper Rifle Nikke who will let you adequately engage distant enemies. For the other two units, you can either consider bringing a Rocket Launcher Nikke for the AoE damage, and then also either a Shotgun or Submachine Gun Nikke for those close-range encounters.
Last but not least, when it comes to Burst Skills in your squad, this aspect is much easier to set up: Just bring at least one of each Burst Skill level (I, II, and III). That’s it, literally. As long as you have a Nikke of each level, you can unleash the entire combo and gain access to the overpowered Full Burst mode, which will often help you to clear stages with ease, especially if you have a few top tier Nikke in your squad.

Using Cover Effectively

Fighting and winning is not just about attacking; you also need to guard and defend if you expect to survive against the toughest enemies in the game. And all you have to do to take cover is simply to stop shooting, after which your Nikke will crouch back into cover, while also reloading her weapon. 
A useful tip to consider when it comes to avoiding damage is to observe the enemy. Often when they’re about to attack, a red light will start to converge on their model. Once this light converges completely on the target enemy, this means they’re about to unleash their attack. At this moment, you should always crouch back into cover to significantly reduce the damage that your Nikke will take. 
What is more, it might not be ideal to simply stay behind cover whenever these enemies are charging their attacks; you could also risk it and try to gun down their weak points in order to interrupt their attacks, cripple their capabilities, and make the ensuing fight much easier.
